Iran end 2018 as beach soccer second team
TEHRAN – Iran national beach soccer team remained in the second place of the World Ranking.
The top five remained unchanged as Brazil still lead the charge, despite Iran closing the gap with last month’s success in the Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup in Dubai, where the Persians won the title after beating Russia.
Behind them Portugal sit in third, with Russia in fourth and Italy remaining in fifth.
Marco Octavio’s men are second with 2568 points behind Brazil (3800).
Portugal are in third with 2450 points.
Senegal climbed into the top ten to claim 2018’s last Movers of the Month title with triumph on the African continent.
Their success in Sharm El Sheikh saw them qualify for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2019 in Paraguay, alongside fellow finalists, Nigeria, who moved up eight places in the World Ranking, ending 2018 in 16th place.
